Mumbai's monorail services were disrupted since about 10 am today due to problems with the power supply. The disruption was caused on both monorail lines after the main power supply was affected. Services were restored by about noon.
The fire brigade had to be called in to rescue 16 passengers who had been stranded in a car that had come to a standstill between Mysore Place and Bhakti Park on the Wadala-Chembur Line. The passengers had to be evacuated with the help of the fire brigade.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the government would inquire into the incident.
