Mumbai: In a tragic incident three members of Pawar family from Kaman in Vasai died on the spot while four others were injured when a jeep collided with an auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling. All the injured persons were rushed to Bhagwati Hospital in Mumbai.
According to locals Ambadas Pawar, 45, resident of Kaman was travelling in auto (MH 04 CT 8394) along with his mother Bharibai Pawar, 65, wife Sedhibai, 40, and daughter Durga, 14.
When their auto reached Chinchoti junction, a speeding jeep dashed the auto from behind. The auto got crushed under a truck which had halted due to a mechanical snag.
They were rushed to Bhagwati Hospital. Vasai traffic police have booked the jeep driver for rash driving and further investigation is going on.
