The Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel, on lookout for bombs and explosives at CST on Tuesday, found a teenaged domestic servant moving in a suspicious manner with Rs1 lakh cash concealed in a bag.
During interrogation, the accused -- Salim Mohammed Munna Ali(18) -- revealed that he had stolen Rs1 lakh from a diamond merchant's Juhu flat, where he was working as a domestic servant for the past two-and-a-half months. He wanted to go to his native place in Uttar Pradesh by train," said inspector Pandarinath Yeram of CST railway police station and added that he was handed over to the Santacruz police station with the stolen cash for further interrogation.
A police officer from Santa Cruz police station said, "Soon after Salim's missing with the cash on Monday night, the diamond merchant had lodged a complaint of theft at Santacruz police station.
