Mumbai: The final phase of Maharashtra government's ambitious Mumbai City Surveillance Project (MCSP), comprising 6,000 CCTV cameras, is complete and will be launched on October 2.
As of now, around 2,000 of these 6,000 CCTVs are in operation, a home department official told PTI.
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) bagged the Rs 959 crore contract of the Maharashtra government for securing Mumbai with the CCTV network.
The CCTV network will help maintain law and order, investigation, gathering evidence and managing traffic of the city.
As per promise made in inaugural function, second phase of the CCTV network was to be activated before anniversary of 26/11 terror attack.
