Mumbai:
Trains on the Harbour Line in Mumbai have been affected after a train derailed between Masjid Bunder and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station on Monday evening.
The train, approaching the city's main CST station, slid off the tracks just before 7 pm. Nobody was reported injured.
The Harbour Line links Navi Mumbai to the CST in South Mumbai.
All trains arriving at CST on the Harbour Line are being terminated at Masjid Bunder, which is the station before CST. With peak hours over, the impact has reduced now.
Services were disrupted between CST and Masjid Bunder stations after a CST-bound train from Panvel derailed. The motorman's coach slid off the tracks.
Services are running fine between Wadala and Panvel. Passengers have also been advised to travel up to Kurla on the main line to board Harbour Line trains.
Efforts to restore services are on and the reason for the derailment is not yet clear.
About 580 services run daily on the Harbour Line and it has 32 stations.
