Mumbai: Aryanka Hosbetkar, the city-based cyclist, today identified in the trial court Jerrit John, owner of a film production house, as the person who threw a chemical at her.
"The victim Aryanka Hosbetkar deposed in the court and identified Jerrit John as the person who threw chemical on her.
She also stood by the prosecution's case," chief public prosecutor Kalpana Chavan told PTI.
Hosbetkar would be cross-examined on September 2 by John's lawyer.
According to police, John, who owns production house 'No Nonsense' and has produced or directed television serials, flung the chemical at the 26-year-old Hosbetkar in 2012 at her residence at Adarsh Colony in Worli in Mumbai after their relations had soured.
She was taken to a private hospital where she was treated and discharged.
The two were facing problems in their 10-month-old relationship after Hosbetkar found out that John was already married and had a five-year-old son.
