Mumbai:
A Mumbai woman committed suicide by jumping off the seventh floor of a building along with her 6-year-old son in suburban Dahisar today.
Dipti Chauhan and her son Siddhu died on the spot.
The Mumbai police have now arrested Dipti's husband, father-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law for abetting the suicide. They will be produced at the holiday court tomorrow at Bandra.
Dipti's family had filed a FIR alleging that she was being harassed.
This is the second incident of a mother committing suicide with her child in Mumbai.
On March 8 this year, a 32-year-old Chartered Accountant Nidhi Gupta also committed suicide with her two children.
Nidhi had jumped off the 19th floor of her building in suburban Malad after pushing off her six-year-old son and three-year-old daughter.
Nidhi's parents had alleged that she was being tortured and had lodged a police case against five people. Later, her husband Pawan Gupta and sister-in-law Sunita were arrested on charges of abetment to suicide and dowry harassment.
