Mumbai: A 25-year-old woman who was returning home after dining out with a friend was allegedly sexually assaulted by a security guard of her apartment building in Mumbai on Friday, the police have said.
The incident reportedly happened in an upmarket locality of suburban Powai in eastern part of the city. According to the police, the guard attacked the woman, a dance teacher, around 2:30 am after her friend dropped her at the building gate and left. The accused was arrested after he confessed to the crime during interrogation.
After the woman lodged a complaint, the police scanned the CCTV footage and found the guard missing from his designated place.
