Mumbai:
Mumbai Police today arrested a notorious thief for allegedly stealing several two-wheelers and selling them in and outside Maharashtra at cheaper rates, police said.
The accused, identified as Raju Sharma (32), a resident of suburban Mira Road, was arrested by the sleuths from Vinoba Bhave Nagar police station on Sunday and subsequently recovered 17 bikes from him, police said.
The accused has been arrested under IPC section 379 (theft), police said adding that the accused is suspected to be a member of a racket involved in stealing two wheelers.
Mr Sharma, a resident of Mira Road, has been remanded in police custody till June 17, police said.
