Commuters wait for a train at Dadar station.
The monsoon woes of Mumbaikars continued on Tuesday morning as train services on the Central line were disrupted after an overhead wire snapped near Dadar railway station.
The incident occurred at platform 3 at around 7.15 am, following which trains on the slow line between Matunga and Vidyavihar were diverted onto the fast line towards CST while some services were also cancelled. As per latest updates, services trains on the Up slow line resumed at 9:40 am, but trains are running well behind schedule due to bunching.
The repair work is underway to restore the damage done.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall continued to lash the city, making things worse for office-goers.
Trains on the western line are said to be running late by 15 minutes, and those on the Harbour and Trans-Harbour line trains by 30 minutes. However, officials from CR stated that services were behind schedule by 10-15 minutes.
Central Railway CPRO Narendra Patil tweeted 'trains are running in spite of OHE break at Dadar platform number 3'. CR officials also claimed that no water-logging that could lead to delay in services was reported at tracks.
On Monday as well, trains on Harbour line were running late due to signal failure.
Meanwhile, water-logging has been reported in several areas like Lalbaug, Hindmata, Sion, Andheri, Jogeshwari and Ghatkopar among other areas.
