Mumbai:
Some unidentified robbers relieved a person from Pune of valuables at knife point. The incident occurred late on Sunday evening while he was on his way back to Pune on motorcycle.
According to police, Prasad Chandrakant Gurav (35), a resident of Pune had come to Mumbai on his motorcycle. While he was on his way back to Pune, a person signaled to stop him asking for lift.
After driving for some distance, the person took out a knife and instructed Gurav to stop the motorcycle.
When he followed the instructions, other robbers following the motorcycle in a car came there are snatched cash and mobile phone collectively worth Rs 25,350 from him.
The culprits forced Gurav to get into the car and dumped him near Ulwe before taking to heels.
The NRI police, following the complaint by Gurav, registered a case under sections 394, 506 and 34 of the IPC. Since the incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Trombay Police Station, the case has been transferred there for further investigations.
