Rohan Sippy bags remake rights of 1970s hit song Dum Maro Dum

Mumbai: Mumbai, Dec 1 Director-Producer Rohan Sippy has accquired the rights to remake 'Dum Maro Dum', the cult song of 1970s, from 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna', from legendary filmmaker Dev Anand.
     
The remake of the super hit number is one of the highlights of Sippy's upcoming production 'Dum Maro Dum' which releases in April next year.
  
  "Devsaab has given his blessings to the team of Dum Maro Dum," sources said adding that once he realised, what director Rohan Sippy wanted to do with the song, he was more than happy to give him the rights to remake it.
    
The movie 'Dum Maro Dum', starring Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Rana Daggubatti, will now have the remixed version of the yesteryear classic.
  
  The new version of the song is supposed to be young and contemporary, so that today's generation too can relate to the song. All eyes will now be on who will fill the big footsteps of Zeenat Aman, who looked stunning in the original version.

    Sources claim that some of the top most actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor are being considered.
   
 The remix is being done by music director Pritam, and he
is presently working on it.
