Shikha Joshi's room-mate has been asked by the police to explain why she didn't phone for help or rush the model to hospital, instead of wasting time on the recording.
Madhu Bharti told NDTV yesterday that the video recording was meant to serve as evidence, should she be later accused of a role in the grisly death.
Ms Bharti and her husband, Riaz Pathan, shared a flat with Ms Joshi. On Saturday, Ms Bharti forced open the bathroom door to discover the model, who had also acted in a Bollywood film titled 'BA Pass', collapsed on the floor with visible neck injuries.
Ms Joshi's family says she did not commit suicide and has asked the police to treat her death as a murder.
In 2011, Ms Joshi had filed a police case against a local doctor who allegedly molested her when she visited his clinic. In 2013, she was arrested for throwing stones at his home.
