Sachin Tendulkar has donated Rs 1 lakh to the Rotary Club of Mumbai.
The Rotary Club of Mumbai has received Rs one lakh each from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and singer Kavita Seth to fund an orthopaedic surgery project.
The Anshul Seksaria Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Project aims at funding the orthopaedic treatment of 100 children whose parents are unable to bear the medical expenses. Besides Ms Seth and Mr Tendulkar, dignitaries such as former Mumbai Police chief Rakesh Maria and income tax commissioner Sumant Sinha have supported the cause.
Ms Seth said, "It is a great pleasure for me to be associated with such a noble cause. If these Rs One lakh can save someone's life, then I think it is the best use of money. Sachin Tendulkar is also supporting the cause and I hope lots of people come ahead and support it."
