Following demonetisation, temples were asked to submit a report of the donated old notes.

The Shri Sai Baba Shirdi Sansthan, managing one of the most revered temples in the country, received Rs 3 crore in the scrapped notes of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denominations after the government's demonetisation move, the temple trust said today.
Following demonetisation, temples have been asked to submit a report of the donated currency notes for the duration of November 8 to 24.
Sai Baba Sansthan Trust chairman Suresh Haware told reporters in Mumbai that, "The Union government has asked the temples to declare the details of scrapped notes donated in the donation box. The trust received Rs 1.27 crore in the denomination of Rs 1,000 while it received Rs 1.57 crore in the denomination of Rs 500 currency notes."
There are 47 donation boxes inside the temple that are opened daily in front of the devotees and trust, Haware said.
