A seven-year-old has drowned in a swimming pool in suburban Mumbai.
Aryan Parab had enrolled at a summer camp at the privately-owned Ozone swimming pool in Goregaon. Parents were not allowed to accompany their children to the swimming classes, so his mother was waiting for him at the gate of the swimming pool complex last evening. She told the police that she heard a guard calling out her son's name. She then rushed to the pool to find Aryan unconscious. The child was rushed to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
There were several swimming instructors and students present when Aryan drowned.
The police is investigating his death to determine if this was a case of negligence.
