Mumbai: A six-year-old girl from Saki Naka was abducted and raped on Sunday afternoon. She was later found in Powai.
According to the police, the victim was playing outside her house at Khairani Road, Saki Naka, around 3pm. She was abducted from there by an unknown person. As family members did not see the girl for a long time, they started searching the area. They approached the Saki Naka police and registered a missing person's complaint, as they were unable to find her.
"Around 7.00pm, the victim's father received a call that his daughter was in Powai. The caller informed that the girl had given him his mobile number. The father rushed to the spot along with other relatives. They brought her to the Saki Naka police station," said a police official.
"The victim was scared and not in a condition to speak at all. We admitted her to Rajawadi Hospital for a medical examination," said the official.
"Several injury marks were found on the victim's private parts. We will register a rape and kidnapping case against an unknown person," said senior police inspector Dhanedhar of the Saki Naka police station.
"We are taking the victim's and her father's statement for further investigations," he added.
