Mumbai:
Two people were killed after a Honda Accord ran them over in the Khar area of Mumbai. The driver of the car has been arrested.
An auto rickshaw driver and a motorcyclist were killed in the accident. Five people were injured, including a woman who was sitting in the back seat of the car. The injured have been taken to the Bhabha Hospital.
Police say it appears the driver ran over the people after he entered a no-entry zone. He also hit several vehicles. He has been booked under section 304 of the India Penal Code for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
A medical examination has been conducted on the driver to determine if he was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
