Mumbai:
He makes molehills out of mountains and bungalows out of tall buildings.
On Thursday afternoon, as some Mumbaikars were puffing on their post-lunch cigarettes and others were catching up on office gossip, the one and only Spider-Man was striking poses atop the 33rd floor of a Prabhadevi building.
The Beau Monde Towers, 'B' wing became venue for Spider-Man's trademark pose, seen often crouched on the Empire State building.
The original marvel superhero Spider-Man from the USA is in the city for a promotion by Disney XD. Yesterday, the tensile web slinger allowed a battery of press photographers the opportunity to take pictures, performing some stunts on the Beau Monde terrace.
The setting was perfect. The traffic roared on the busy Prabhadevi road below.
The building, all glass and steel, with a swimming pool, manicured lawns, clubhouse and children's play area one of the new luxury skyscrapers in the city, which replaced a mill, was chosen because it gave a spectacular view of Mumbai's skyline.
At 2 pm, Spider-Man emerged on the terrace of the 33-floor building sending the shutterbugs on the dais into a frenzy. He climbed on the parapet, with feline ease and then showed he had the courage of his Spidey contortions on a glass pyramid like structure atop the building.
All this while, a cast and crew member from Spidey's team was directing the phalanx of press photographers on and off the dais. At one juncture he helped Spider-Man do an inverted somersault.
All this while, a music system was belting out the spider-man number as the US citizen's stunts reached a crescendo.
Finally, it was one final stunt and then, Peter Parker as he is called, did a 'namaste' to amused photographers (after all, even Spidey knows this is a global world) before disappearing into the cement structure.
Incidentally, this was a teaser to Spider-Man's main show. He would be performing at five cities in India, before going back to the USA.
