Mumbai: Campa Cola society demolition on hold as Supreme Court considers permanent solution

Aditya Thackeray, son of Uddhav Thackeray:

  • Will keep asking the Chief Minister to take the decision on the Campa Cola. The BMC officials are bound by the court orders. Only the Chief Minister can save.
  • The government response after three meetings with the Chief Minister has been cold. Expected the local MP and MLA to stand with citizens yest when most needed.
  • However keeping all politics aside, I appreciate everyone who participated in the all party meets with Chief Minister. I hope the Chief Minister acts soon!
  • What is important is to punish the errant officials and builders, not the citizens now. Police were ordered to lathicharge the people today by the government.
Nalin Kohli, BJP leader:

  • The Supreme Court's stay will be only for some time.
  • It is a now a life of uncertainty. It is a sensitive issue. It makes a great impact on people's lives. It should be seen as a personal issue.
  • The bigger question is such situations must not arise. There is a need to think on these issues.
  • There must be a sense of relief; not anger and anguish.
