A still taken from the CCTV cameras at the toll plaza
Navi Mumbai: Nearly eight to ten men, suspected to be workers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), attacked a toll plaza in Navi Mumbai's Kharghar on Tuesday evening. A senior official at the toll plaza was injured in the attack. Police have arrested six people over the attack.
The act was caught on the CCTV cameras installed at the toll plaza. A group of men can be seen on camera barging inside the toll plaza's office and arguing with the officials there. Suddenly, one of the attackers slaps an official; another picks up a bottle of water and hits the other official with it.
The manager at the toll plaza, Rakesh Singh, said they were attacked because they had filed an FIR against the MNS workers for vandalizing the plaza earlier.
"When the toll booth had started, the MNS men had come and vandalized the booth. We had filed an FIR against them then... Today, around eight to ten people came in some four cars. They entered the cabin and asked us how can we file a case against them and beat us up ... They even hit the General Manager with a bottle," said Mr Singh.
The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the suspected MNS workers.
