Mumbai:
A teenager from Jharkhand was today arrested for allegedly posing as a Pakistani national and sending a death threat through an email to industrialist Anil Ambani.
Seventeen-year-old Rajesh Kumar Agarwal, a student from Dhanbad district of Jharkhand, was arrested from his home town and was being brought to Mumbai, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Deven Bharti said.
"Agarwal had seen the coverage of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks on TV and always felt that India should have taken action against Pakistan," Bharti said.
The teenager apparently felt that his threatening email to a top industrialist such as Ambani, purportedly sent from Pakistan, would force the Indian Government to initiate action against that country, the officer said.
Agarwal sent the mail from the email address jannuhm@rediffmail.com to Ambani's personal email address on January 15, threatening to kill him, Bharti said.
He had identified himself as Muqtar from Pakistan in the email.
Three days after the threatening mail, an FIR was registered with Mumbai police's Cyber Cell wing, which today nabbed the boy.
Further probe is on, the police official said.
