Mumbai:
Three men were today arrested for allegedly killing a Nigerian national during a clash in Mumbai between two groups over drug-peddling, police said.
Samson Chivistian Chidkave, 27, the Nigerian who was also a drug-peddler, was attacked with a knife by a local group at Sandhurst Road railway yard on September 17. He was smuggling narcotics with his associates.
After grievously injured Samson collapsed in a pool of blood, his associates fled the spot taking him along with them. He was admitted to a civic hospital in Navi Mumbai where he died during treatment, a police official said.
Vashi police registered an offence of murder in this case and transferred it to their Dongri counterparts.
During investigation, it was found that the clash between the groups was over the smuggling of narcotics.
Subsequently, police today arrested Aalam Ali Sheikh, Yusuf Ali Sheikh and Afzal Ali Sheikh in the case.
Notably, when the Mumbai Crime Branch had launched an operation in April against these drug peddlers who operate near Wadibunder and Dongri, seven policemen were then injured during stone-pelting.
