Mumbai:
The Western Express highway that connects the Mumbai suburbs and the island city was hit by traffic jams this afternoon. Thousands of cars moved at a crawling pace between Goregaon and Vile Parle, covering a distance of around 8 kilometres.
The massive jam was caused apparently by a minor oil spill near the domestic airport. Though authorities have spread sand on the spill to absorb the oil, the slippery road conditions have forced drivers to tread carefully.
