Two constables injured after being hit by speeding bike in Mumbai

Mumbai: Two traffic police constables were injured in Mumbai this morning when they tried to intercept miscreants on a speeding bike. They have sustained minor injuries and were treated at a local hospital.

According to the police, a constable spotted two men stealing a car stereo and speeding away on a motorbike in Ghatkopar, in central suburban Mumbai, at around 5 AM on Monday. He tried to catch up with them but failed, following which he alerted his colleagues via a wireless message.

Two traffic constables on patrolling duty, who were on foot, then tried to stop the bikers. But the rider rammed the bike into the cops and the duo fled, leaving the bike and stolen stereo behind. The cops are trying to ascertain the identity of the offenders and trace them.
