Two local trains collide in Mumbai, no casualties reported
Mumbai: Two suburban local trains suddenly came opposite each other at Mumbai's Andheri station tonight and collided, a railway official said. No casualties were reported.

The incident, however, completely threw the suburban railway services out of gear, hitting home-bound commuters hard even as several parts of northern Mumbai were lashed with heavy rains.

The incident that occurred at around 11.15 pm involved a Churchgate-Borivli train and a Virar-Churchgate train just outside Andheri station.

Though some television reports claimed that at least two bogies of one of the suburban trains derailed, Western Railway officials refused to confirm or deny the same.

Thousands of angry commuters vented their ire by resorting to minor stone-pelting in Andheri, compelling the Government Railway Police to evict them from the trains and the railway platforms.
