Two teens arrested on charge of stealing bikes in Mumbai

Mumbai: Mulund police caught three accused behind motorbike theft taking place in Mulund and neighbouring areas. They recovered 11 bikes from the gang.

On Monday, the trio was arrested from an area near Mehul Cinema. Rahim Shaikh (name changed), 16, Sani Jankar, 19, and Amjad Pasha, 28, all residents of Vikhroli, operated in areas like Mulund, Powai, Mumbra and Kausa.

The recovered bikes mainly comprise Pulsar and Unicon prototypes. The gang members have changed the name plates and have also dismantled the spare parts.

"The trio stole bikes from Mulund, Powai, Mumbra and Kausa and have manipulated with its spare parts. We are trying to find the details of the bike owner with the Regional Transport Office," said Dilip Dhamunse, an investigating officer of this case.

According to the investigating team, with the help of duplicate keys or manipulating with the wires, the gang drove the motorbike. "All the three are now remanded in police custody and we are further investigating the matter," added Dilip.
