Mumbai: A 30-year-old woman allegedly attempted suicide by jumping in front of a train at Vikhroli railway station in Mumbai, but was saved by alert passengers.
Nazia Sayeed got down to the tracks alongside platform one and started walking towards the approaching train yesterday, a senior RPF official said today.
A few passengers raised an alarm, following which two young men jumped onto the tracks and rescued the woman with help of Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police officials, he said.
The entire incident was captured by the CCTV camera installed at the station.
The official said the woman, a divorcee, wanted to end her life as she was upset with her family.
