Kharghar Police have a launched a manhunt to nab a lady, who has been on a run after pouring hot oil over her husband after an altercation. The accused has been identified as Manisha Kadam (35), police said. According to police, Manisha and Jairaj (42), a weight and measurement officer with the Government of Maharashtra and a resident of Devdarshan building at sector-19 in Kharghar, were having a disturbed married life. Though the couple was married for last 18-years there was some matrimonial discord between them, the official said.
On Friday, the duo had an argument over some monetary matters, after which the Manisha poured hot oil on her husband. "There was some hot oil kept nearby which she took and poured on him in a fit of rage. Her husband sustained 40 percent burn injuries," an official from Kharghar Police Station said. Kadam was then admitted to Vashi's MGM hospital and is undergoing treatment.
"There was some problem with the couple, and they always engaged in argument and fights. They have a son and a daughter," the official said, adding, "We have registered a case against Manisha and have been hunting for her ever since the incident happened but she is absconding." A case of attempt to murder has been registered against Manisha under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) with Kharghar Police.
