Mumbai: A woman in Mumbai decided to shame a man who sexually harassed her by posting his image on twitter. Maryanna Abdo's tweets have not just provoked angry responses from people but have also drawn a reaction from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who has ordered the police to track down the offender.
Ms Abdo, who describes herself as a writer and education nerd, posted her first tweet on the incident on Sunday. It allegedly took place in the morning in a lane near the iconic Gateway of India in south Mumbai.
The post has been retweeted over 2300 times. She tweeted again to clarify that two other men in the picture, including a vendor, had stopped to help her.
In the multitude of responses that have flooded Ms Abdo's page, one was from the Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office.
The woman is expected to record her statement with the police today. A police team visited the woman's office but were initially denied entry. They managed to speak to her later and asked her to file an official complaint.
