Muzaffarnagar:
Two officials, including an engineer, of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation were arrested for allegedly accepting bribe from farmers in separate cases, officials said.
Engineer Manoj Kumar of the department was arrested yesterday on a tip-off for accepting the bribe of Rs 10,000 from a Budhana town farmer here, District Magistrate Santosh Kumar said.
In a separate case, clerk Madan Gupta was arrested for accepting bribe from a farmer, Kumar said.
The two had demanded bribe for replacing tube well transformers, Kumar said.
They have been arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
