Muzaffarnagar:
A woman was allegedly gunned down by her husband following a quarrel over his alcohol addiction at Biral village in Prabudhnagar district, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday when the accused Rajvir, in a fit of rage, opened fire at his wife, identified as Lavi after she opposed his drinking habit, leading to her death on the spot, they said. Further probes are on, they added.
In another incident, a woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband and in-laws over dowry in Bhud village near Muzaffarnagar, police said.
Suman was beaten badly by her husband Jaipal and in-laws after she failed to fulfil their dowry demands, following which the victim died on the spot, they said.
A case has been registered against Jaipal and four other people in this connection.
