Muzzaffarnagar:
A man allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison after the family of the girl, whom he loved, refused to give consent for their marriage, police said.
Twenty-eight-year-old Arjun consumed poison at the girl's residence in Bhanwara village in the district on Wednesday. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, police said.
A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against the girl's father Surender and grandfather Balwant.
Meanwhile, another couple Yogesh and Priti has sought police protection after their parents threatened to kill them over their love-affair.
