Muzaffarnagar: A 12-year-old child died after being attacked by some stray dogs when he had gone out to play in the district, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday when Ashu had gone out to play near his school at Rasoolpur village under Charthawal Police Station in the district, they said, adding, some street dogs chased and attacked him.
Villagers claimed atleast 15 people, including women and children, have been injured due to dog attacks in the last 15 days.
Meanwhile, Dr Ashok Kataria said, in-charge of government-run primary health centre at Charthawal said, at least 10 dog attack victims have visited his centre for anti-rabies injection.
Additional District Magistrate Indermani Tripathi today said a drive will be started against dogs to prevent them from biting villagers.
