A local court has rejected the bail plea of a man, accused of raping his 15-year-old daughter and nine-year-old niece in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, saying that a father is the natural guardian of a child and cannot be excused for such a crime.
Additional District Sessions Judge Lokender Rathi rejected the bail plea of Omvir yesterday.
While rejecting his bail plea, the court observed that the father is the natural guardian of the child and he cannot be excused for such a crime.
According to the prosecution, Omvir was arrested for raping his 15-year-old daughter and nine-year old niece in Muzaffarnagar on August 6, 2013.
The daughter lodged an FIR against her father and alleged that she and her cousin sister were raped, police said, adding that a charge sheet has been filed against the accused in this connection.
