Power station vandalised, electrical equipment stolen

Muzaffarnagar: Over twenty armed men broke into a newly constructed power station in Pura village in Muzaffarnagar and decamped with expensive electrical equipment, police said on Thursday.

The miscreants also damaged two transformers worth over Rs 2 crore, they said.

According to the complaint lodged by an engineer working at the station, over 20 armed men on Wednesday attacked the station's security guard and locked him inside a store room before vandalising the station.

They decamped with the equipment in a truck, police said, adding, no arrests have been made in this connection so far.
