Muzaffarpur: Five persons were run over by a speeding truck in a village under Sahebpur police station area in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district in wee hours, police sources said.
The incident took place as a speeding truck lost control and ran over five persons sitting by the roadside in Rampur village, the sources said.
While three persons died on the spot, two others succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital, they said.
The bodies have been sent to the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for autopsy, the sources said, adding efforts were on to ascertain the identity of the victims.
The truck driver escaped with the vehicle after the incident, they added.
