Muzaffarpur, Bihar: During checking for unaccounted cash for use in polls, police today caught two persons carrying Rs 6.36 lakh at Maithi toll plaza in Muzaffarpur district in Bihar.
During routine checking of vehicles, the police found Rs 6.36 lakh in a car coming from Darbhanga to Muzaffarpur, police said.
When queried about the cash, two occupants of the vehicle could not give a satisfactory answer, they said, adding the car along with the cash been kept at Gayghat police station.
Income Tax department officials have been called to look into the matter after which action would be initiated, the sources said.
