Muzaffarpur:
Two policemen including an Inspector were injured on Sunday when a mob pelted stones on policemen while enforcing a road blockade on NH-28 in Muzaffarpur in Bihar to protest the death of a minor girl.
Angry over killing of a girl on the charge that her goat entered another person's field, residents of Moresandi village blocked NH-28 and when police reached there to remove the blockade they pelted stones during which two policemen, an inspector and a constable were injured, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rajesh Kumar said.
Police had to fire in the air to disperse the agitators, the SSP said adding that nobody was hurt in the police firing.
The SSP said the police is investigating the killing of the 15-year-old girl Soni who was beaten to death by the owner of the field.
