Greater Noida: An excise department team of Gautam Buddha Nagar today seized a car and recovered 10,000 bottles of country liquor kept in 200 cartons.
District Excise Officer Kuldeep Yadav said when the excise team intercepted the vehicle near Junaidpur in Dankaur area, the liquor smugglers opened fire while escaping, leaving the car behind.
The bottles were recovered from the vehicle and an FIR has been lodged at Dankaur police station. Yadav said that this month 70 liquor smuggling cases were detected and 6 vehicles and 4,300 litre of smuggled liquor seized till yesterday.
