The shootout took place in Sector 76 in Noida
Noida: A 27-year-old techie working with Tata Consultancy Services was shot dead in Delhi suburb Noida on Monday evening.
According to the police, Ankit Chauhan was driving home with a friend in his SUV when two men in a white Honda Accord overtook his car and fired at him, hitting him in the hand and neck. The shootout took place in Sector 76 in Noida.
"I were passing through the area when I saw crowd surrounding a vehicle. When I got closer, I heard a man pleading and asking for help. So I got into the car and took out Ankit Chauhan and took him to the hospital," said Pappu, an eyewitness.
Ankit was rushed to Kailash hospital in Noida, where he was declared dead.
"Ankit had multiple gunshot wounds and was profusely bleeding," said Sarika Chandra, a doctor at the Kailash hospital.
The software engineer had married just three months ago.
"Ankit was coming from Sector 133. The car who overtook his vehicle has been identified. There could be several reasons behind this, he had got married just a few days ago so enmity could be a possibility. We are investigating," said Superintendent of Police Dinesh Yadav.
