Death of boy sparks off violence, 17 injured

Noida, Uttar Pradesh: At least 17 people, including five policemen, were injured on Sunday in a clash that broke out after the death of a 16-year-old boy, who was crushed to death by a bus in Noida Sector 57.
    
Rahul Gupta, a Class X student and resident of Khoda colony area, was hit by a bus on Saturday and was rushed to a Delhi hospital, police said. He succumbed to injuries on Sunday, they said adding angry relatives took his body to Labour Chowk crossing near Khoda colony and blocked road traffic in Sector 57.
    
The relatives  were demanding compensation and arrest of the bus driver.
    
When a police team reached the scene, the protesters indulged in stone-pelting damaging six buses, police said adding at least 17 people, including five cops, were injured in the violence.
    
Police resorted to mild lathi-charge to disperse the mob and bring the situation under control.
    
20 people were arrested in connection with the violence, police said.
    
Senior Superintendent of Police Jyoti Narayan has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
