Noida:
DND flyway management has announced hike in toll tariff effective from today, December 20, to which residents of Noida have protested.
As per DND Flyway management, toll rate of non-commercial cars has been hiked from Rs 25 to Rs 28, for LCVs has been hiked from Rs 55 to Rs 70, buses and trucks from Rs 70 to Rs 85, large vehicles from Rs 100 to Rs 120 and extra large vehicles from Rs 130 to Rs 155.
There is no hike for two wheelers.
Also, the hike is only for cash paying commuters as those driving Class 2 four wheelers and non-commercial vehicles and having cards can avail the existing toll rates.
Existing card holders can upgrade the card for minimum Rs 3,000 and avail benefit of passage at Rs 25 while new users can buy silver or gold card for Rs 5,000 plus and avail Rs 25 per passage.
The second recharge for both new and existing will be for a minimum of Rs 3,000 to continue availing the same price.
Discounted passages are valid upto September 30, 2015. Limited cards are available under this scheme. Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association has protested the hike and threatened to launch an agitation.
"We will hold protest at DND. We have already filed PIL," said N P Singh, representative FONRWA.
