Hailstorm In Noida Throws Traffic Out of Gear
The Met department forecast a spell of hail, rains and thundershowers on Saturday afternoon.
Noida: After heavy rains in the national capital last evening that threw vehicular traffic out of gear in the city, hailstorm lashed parts of Delhi and adjacent Noida today.

The city witnessed severe traffic snarls after the hailstorm, which began at around 9 am and continued for about 20 minutes giving a harrowing time to commuters.

Delhi experienced light rains on Saturday morning with the minimum temperature recorded at 18.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.

An official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the city received 9.1 mm rainfall by 8.30 a.m.

The Met department forecast a spell of hail, rains and thundershowers on Saturday afternoon.

According to the official, the maximum temperature was likely to hover around 29 degree Celsius.

The three-day World Culture Festival organised by the Art Of Living Foundation that commenced in New Delhi yesterday was also initially disrupted by rain followed by traffic snarls. People inside the venue ran for cover to escape the downpour.
