Noida: Bandh Implemented after Murder of Trader

Greater Noida: Shops and business establishments mostly remained closed in Noida's Dankaur and surrounding areas in response to a bandh call demanding arrest of those involved in the recent murder of a trader on Monday.

Dankaur Vyapar Mandal called the strike seeking immediate arrest of those involved in the recent murder of Manmohan in Dankaur.

"Today's bandh call was successful as a majority of the shops in the main markets remained closed," said Ved Prakash Aggarwal of the Dankaur Vyapar Mandal said, adding that traders' dharna seeking arrest of the accused would continue.

Police have claimed that they have arrested two relatives of the prime suspect and a hunt is on to nab him.

Meanwhile, the police said unknown assailants on Monday attacked
a college principal, Punit Ahuja, with hockey sticks at Knowledge Park here, critically injuring him.

The principal was rushed to a hospital where his condition was stated to be stable by late evening.

The Police said they were investigating both the cases and the accused would be arrested soon.
