Noida:
As the country mourned the death of Delhi rape victim, anniversary of the brutal Nithari killings that shook the nation's conscience six years ago remained a low-key affair, with the participation of city's bigwigs in remembering the victims missing this time.
While no 'Havan' ceremony was organised like previous years, any major arrangement in the remembrance of the victims was also not seen.
Even as some families believed that people have moved on with time, many argued that the victims' families were left with no other option after being "denied" of justice.
"Noida Police has not learnt any lesson from Nithari case and are treating cases regarding missing persons lightly. Families of several missing persons are doing the rounds of police station in search of their loved ones," said RTI activist Lokesh Batra.
It was on this day in 2006 when recovery of human skulls and skeletal remains from a drain behind Pandher's bungalow had sent shock waves throughout the country and had sparked a nation-wide outrage.
