Sonakshi won't compromise her values: Shatrughan Sinha

Sonakshi won't compromise her values: Shatrughan Sinha
New Delhi: Did you notice Sonakshi's Indian look in 'Dabangg'? It was no accident. Her father Shatrughan Sinha says the newcomer will continue to depict Indian women in her upcoming projects.

"People are praising her look in Dabangg. After a long time, a typical Indian heroine was seen onscreen. Sonakshi will continue to do roles that are within the boundaries of self-respect. She will not compromise her values for some rat race. She is in no hurry," Sinha says.

The actor-politician feels that right attitude is more important than short clothes to portray a character onscreen.

Sinha is happy with daughter's rise to fame with her very first film. Sonakshi has already signed another film with Salman Khan, her co-star in 'Dabangg', besides bagging projects with directors like Farah Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Sajid Nadiadwala. She is also in 'Race 2'.

But the actor, who ruled the screen in the 70s and 80s despite his unconventional looks, does not fear being eclipsed by his children.

"I don't think I am afraid of being overshadowed by them. Parents never get insecure about their children's success. I would love to be overtaken by them," he says.

Sinha's son Luv also made his debut last year with Raj Kanwar's 'Sadiyaan' but the film failed to make any mark at the box office unlike Sonakshi's debut.

"I had liked the subject of the movie and Luv got the role on his own. Rajkanwar is a great director but film's release was not timed well. It was IPL season and instead of watching a movie of a newcomer, people opted to watch cricket. But Luv is not disheartened. He is in Chennai working out details for his next film," Sinha adds.

Shotgun will next be seen opposite screen diva Rekha in 'Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai' and though his political assignments keep him busy, Sinha says he will never say goodbye to acting.

"How can I deny the actor in me? It is a big part of who I am. I will continue doing films."
