Vasuki Sunkavalli out of Miss Universe race

Sao Paulo: India's dry run at the Miss Universe contest continued as Vasuki Sunkavalli failed to make it to the final 16 at the Miss Universe 2011 contest.

Earlier, the 27-year-old was disappointed as she could not pose in her national costume because it was not delivered on time.

India hasn't won the crown since 2000. It was model-turned actress Lara Dutta who had won the crown for India in that year.
