Caught on CCTV: The moment a woman was dragged to safety as a train pulled into the station

Dramatic CCTV footage shows a woman being pulled from the tracks moments before a train comes hurtling in to the station. The woman, who Australian media reports appeared to be drunk, was attempting to cross the train tracks at a suburban station in Melbourne late at night.

Shocking footage from a surveillance camera, posted on YouTube by CGTN, shows the blonde woman stumble across the train tracks towards the platform. As she struggles to climb up, a commuter waiting on the platform rushes towards her to lend a helping hand. Alone, he struggles.

Suddenly, a train appears in the frame, speeding towards her.

That's when three officials run towards the woman, grab her by the arms and pull her to safety in the nick of time.

According to a Victoria Police spokesperson, the driver of the train saw the woman and hit the emergency brakes. But, because of the size and weight of the train and the speed at which it was travelling, there was no way it would have stopped in time.
