Lately, there's been a lot of talk about how women apologize a lot and should probably stop saying sorry as much as they do. There has been research on the topic, ads on the subject, a sketch by Amy Schumer and even an app that stops women from saying 'sorry' at work.
A popular jewelry brand's new commercial is a riff on this theme. It shows a woman dressing for an award show as a voice-over narrates her acceptance speech - she has just won the 'Young Entrepreneur Award'.
She begins by saying this is her first thank you speech but she has had a lot of practice giving sorry speeches. She's always saying sorry - to her employees, clients, mother, father, child, even her house help.
She eventually says she's glad to finally get to say something else. "Thank you, thank you everyone for putting up with me," the young woman says in the end.
The video makes for a beautiful watch and chances are most women will be able to relate it. Take a look below:
